Mood board for Logo/Branding
Here is my moodboard for my typeface. Basically I am working on combining the hard work ethic from the farm along with the creative side of design. Kind of a hard and soft contrast, because that is really what describes me the most. My logo design idea includes barbed wire unraveling and blending into a floral/spiral vector design. I think that would really show my growth from my farm background into the designer I am today. I really like the photo of the farmer on the bottom because you can see that he is hardworking, but the hat is also very soft. Sarah and I talked about it in my final meeting and there are a lot of textures I can use to convey message. This photo is the type of feeling that I want my brand to have. My only worry I have in developing this idea is I want to represent farmer with the feeling of the photo clearly while staying away from the stereotypical hillbilly and pitchfork image. I think I can make it work and am excited to brainstorm over the summer.
Friends Tattoo
I like tattoo design. I think tattoos are cool because they kind of represent rebelliousness but also can be very meaningful. I worked on design for one of my friends. She wanted an eagle to represent her dad (who passed away) and then a cherry branch so it wasn't all about death and to also show growth from what she went through. These are the images she gave me to work with:
I had basically one night to work on combining the two, so I re-drrew them in Illustrator, working off similar images to get the right feel. The I combined them in photoshop to get this:

Then I photoshopped the image on to two internet images to get an idea of what it might look like finished and sent it to her at 2 am. A night well spent.
Woodstock Design for Critique2
This is my design for the final critique last Thursday. I am glad we are printing these next year just because I am really involved with me design and know there are little details I am still working on tweaking. Overall though the changes I am really happy with the changes I made from the last design. Probably the most that will change over the summer is the guitar. I want to work the title in more and kind of get back that grunge title feel with out all the scribbles that were so distracting before. Still in love with this project. The mock-up is hanging up in my room!

Another Client vs Designer Robot Classic
This one really made me laugh, because although our GD class is awesome, this makes fun of some of the stereotypical critique sinerios.

Desktop Publishing Book Design
This is my design for my lyrics book for Desktop Publishing.
It has all my favorite songs on one side and then my reflections on why I listen to this music on the other side.
The fire is from the Disturbed Indestructible CD cover and is typical cd art for this genre of music. I used it in this project to represent the internal struggle I have with myself which is the reason I listen to this "angry" music.
This project meant a lot to me because the music I listen to is really important to me and there are a lot of stereotypes about people who listen to hard rock or metal. I don't fit those stereotypes so I get a weird reaction from people. This project is supposed to explain why I connect with these songs.
